Raised in bham all my life UAB is one of the hardest universities in the southeast if you are looking for a higher education in the medical & health science field. The coursework is hard, professors dgaf bout you fr, facilities n food is pretty good, the clubs are extensive and versatile. City isnt dangerous just dont be out late and trust nobody:)

UAB is one of the best universities in the southeast and perhaps the best school in Alabama. Student Life is very active here even if you are a commuter student. We're a big basketball school and known for our pre med nursing and public health programs. Our STEM, Humanities and Fine Arts programs are also high quality.

This is a fantastic with some many opportunities on-and-off campus that are open to students. Classes are tough, but it is a more academically rigorous university opposed to some other schools in and neighboring Alabama. I wouldn't change anything about my time here!

UAB can be a great school, only if you force yourself to meet people. Most people are clicky and stay in their circle. Also, Trying to cross the street in the middle of downtown traffic can be dangerous. It is also right near the hospital which makes traffic AWFUL. Parking is a joke, anyone can park in the spots not just students and faculty.

Depending on your major UAB is a great place for big opportunities and career readiness. It is hard to make friends if you are not in a club but even then clicking with people are can be hard. Food here is not great and if it is then you're wating on your food for what feels like an hour. Common areas and library can be bad depending on the time.

UAB is great don't get me wrong but there is a lot of space for improvement. The housing also could be better and IMO Blazer and McMahon is the best housing spaces you could get. The selection of food is good but it gets boring and there's not a lot of change. The libraries are a good place if you're looking for a quiet place to study or do work.

UAB boasts strong academic prowess in all majors especially in medicine and healthcare related majors. If you want to be in the medical or clinical world UAB is a great fit for you. Opportunities are abundant and the mid sized urban campus gives you a unique college experience.

It's a good school if you're looking for a diverse and friendly environment. It's pretty left leaning as far as alabama schools go. I'm glad greek life isn't a huge thing here.

UAB offers multiple opportunities for students to mingle and mix with others. The diversity in terms of race and sexuality is huge. I would argue that it is the safest college in Alabama for queer individuals. The food is not always the best, but it isn’t the worst. Overall, UAB is a great campus.

This is a great school for STEM focused people. Engineering is solid and has alot of classes. Reasearch is hard to get into due to the competetiveness for lab positions. Food could be alot better. DO NOT LIVE IN UAB HOUSING, it is crumbling under the weight of no leadership. I'd reccomend the school for people looking for premed or biomed majors.

If you are someone who is big into school spirit, you are looking at the wrong place. This school is known for its nursing and biomedical programs, but that is about it. Fraternities and sororities do not have a large presence and it would be best to go home on the weekends if you can because there is nothing to do if you aren't going to class.

UAB is the best decision I could've made for myself. ESPECIALLY if you're STEM. We are a top 8%, & our medical schools are among the best GLOBALLY. Research labs, orgs, brain labs, concerts, free tutoring, puppies, symposiums & expos, opportunities for ALL students. The location is beautiful, & we are one of the largest universities nationwide.

You can feel extremely comfortable and diverse here at the school. Be prepared to study hard and play later. The campus is very beautiful, green, and located at the heart of downtown.

UAB is prestigious in its education. However, there are some things that need massive improvement. The dining, studying, and sometimes even classrooms are outdated and not up to par. The customer service is also not that great for the dining options. The student's life depends on your major. Some are too competitive and thus have no social/friends.
