Additional scholarship opportunities

National Scholars can apply for additional scholarships and financial aid to help cover the remaining cost of attendance. This list is meant to provide suggestions for additional funding options and is by no means comprehensive. Students are encouraged to apply for scholarships as early as possible since many ASU and Barrett scholarships close in February.

  • ASU’s scholarship portal: Specific criteria can be set to narrow the search if desired. This is a dynamic list, so keep an eye on it for additions throughout the year.
  • Barrett scholarships: Most of these scholarships close on Feb. 1, 2024, and require applicants to be admitted to Barrett by March 8, 2024.
  • Grady and Kathryn Gammage Memorial Scholarship: This scholarship requires applicants to be National Merit Semi-Finalists, National Merit Finalists or College Board National Recognition Program recipients and closes on Feb. 1, 2024.
  • Departmental scholarships: Many colleges and departments within ASU offer scholarships for specific majors.
  • Complete the FAFSA: The Free Application for Federal Student Aid becomes available in December. Some merit or need-based scholarships require a current FAFSA to be on file with ASU. It’s a good idea to complete this each year, even if you think your family’s income may not result in aid. The ASU priority date for FAFSA submission is Jan. 15 each year.
